ITK is an automated analysis of publicly posted football transfer reporting. Software collects public posts from a defined set of accounts on X, groups them into stories, records which account posted about each story first, and records whether selected outlets subsequently reported the same story. From that it computes the figures shown on the leaderboard.
The rankings are an evidence-based opinion produced by an automated process under a published methodology. They are not a statement of fact about any person's honesty, competence, professional standing or overall reliability, and should not be read as one.
In particular, a story marked as confirmed means only that a selected outlet reported the same story. It does not mean a transfer took place. A story marked as later ended means the reported move did not go ahead — which frequently happens for reasons entirely unconnected to the accuracy of the original reporting.
Classification is performed by an AI system and can be wrong. Where it is wrong, we want to know and we will correct it.
The method is published in full at how the scoring works, and every change to it is recorded in the methodology changelog with the date it took effect. A ranking shown on any given day was produced under the version current at that time.
Anything on this site can be challenged using the report a classification form. The corrections policy sets out response times and what happens to a disputed item while it's being checked. A reporter listed here may ask to be removed from the leaderboard at any time and does not have to give a reason.
ITK is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by or connected to BBC Sport, Sky Sports News, ESPN FC, X Corp, or any club, league, publication or individual named on the site. Those names are used only to describe factually who reported what.
Post extracts are reproduced for the purpose of criticism, review and reporting, with the author identified and a link to the original. Rights in that material remain with their owners. Where a post is deleted on X, its text is removed here too.
The site is provided as it is. It depends on third-party services and may be unavailable, delayed or incomplete at any time. Where live data cannot be retrieved, no substitute figures are displayed.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, ITK is not liable for any loss arising from reliance on information published here, including decisions taken on the basis of a ranking or classification. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
The site may display advertising supplied by third parties. Adverts are not endorsements, and advertisers have no influence over the rankings or the methodology.
These terms may change. The version number and date at the top will change with them.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
