ITK publishes automated judgements about named professionals. That only works if getting them wrong is easy to report and quick to fix. This page says exactly how that works, so nobody has to guess.
The short version. Use the report a classification form, or email picketalert@gmail.com. A credible report gets the item suppressed from the scores while it's checked. You get a substantive reply within five working days, usually within one.
| Stage | Timescale |
|---|---|
| Acknowledgement that the report has been received | 1 working day |
| Disputed item marked under review and suppressed from the visible scores | 1 working day |
| Substantive response, with the evidence behind the classification | 5 working days |
| Removal from the leaderboard, where requested by the reporter concerned | 5 working days |
| Data-protection requests under UK GDPR | 1 month (see the privacy page) |
An item under review is taken out of the visible scores rather than left up with a caveat attached. It is better to show less than to leave a contested judgement about someone standing while it's argued over. Once resolved it is either corrected, or restored with an explanation.
You'll be told which posts, timestamps and outlet reports it rests on, so the reasoning can be examined rather than simply asserted. If you still disagree, say so and it will be looked at again by someone who wasn't involved the first time.
Most classifications are published automatically as soon as they're made. Two exceptions:
Every report, the evidence considered and the outcome are recorded, along with the methodology version in force at the time. That record is what allows an old ranking to be explained rather than reconstructed from memory.
If you're unhappy with how a complaint has been handled, say so and it will be reviewed afresh. For data-protection matters you also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
